  • We don’t like posing for photos, does this matter?
Don’t worry this is very common and you have two things to bear in mind; firstly, our approach is very natural, and we are often praised on our ability to blend in and feel like a part of the wedding party, so it shouldn’t feel like you have a photographer following you around. Secondly, trust us, you will be so busy having the time of your life that you will forget that you’re supposed to smile for camera … because you will naturally be smiling! It is our job to catch that and not wait until you are ready and tell you to smile for the photo.
  • What happens if you are unable to attend our wedding?
In the entire time (cumulatively 10 years) we have been shooting weddings this hasn’t happened yet, but in the spirit of safeguarding of course know that it is absolutely possible that it could. We have built an incredibly strong network of photographers, so that if for whatever reason we couldn’t attend your wedding, we would find others to send in our place of equal capability. As we say it’s not happened yet, but we have had to cover for others, one with only a few days’ notice when the original photographers contracted a very severe case of covid. Contrary to popular belief a lot of photographers get on well! And because of our social activities with these other photographers, we have developed a very loyal and professional team that look out for each other.
  • What happens if your camera breaks?
Great question, as it has! Being in an industry that is so reliant on technology you must have backups in place. So, here’s what happened; Simon was at one end of the aisle, I was at the other. First kiss comes, and my camera decides that it had enough, that was it’s time. Simon keeps shooting. And this really does press home the importance of having two photographers. Our equipment is top end, state of the art and there was no indication that it was coming. But because the two of us was there, the moment wasn’t missed. Ceremony concludes and low and behold I have spare equipment of the same top end quality ready to go. Nobody was any the wiser. And that really goes for all our equipment, as more likely to break is memory cards, so we shoot on a rotating basis, regularly changing memory cards so that if for whatever reason a card corrupts, it is has only lost say an hour on one of the cameras (we shoot with 4). Even then we have software that (may) recover corrupted cards. We know important this day is and whilst we can’t absolutely guarantee that it won’t happen, we put as many safeguards in place to minimise the risk.
  • What happens after we book you for our wedding photography?
We will always encourage you to meet us in person where possible before you even book, so you can really get to know us and how we work before you commit to booking. Being able to gel and feel comfortable with your photographer is so important, we want you to have that opportunity that we are the right choice for you. If you then decide to book, to secure your date, we will need a 25% deposit as well as completion of our super easy online booking form, which includes our terms and conditions. Then we leave it until a bit closer the wedding (usually about a month or so before) when you have your itinerary and all the plans buttoned up to get the full details of the day, so we know what’s happening when and where. In the meantime, we encourage you to keep in touch with any ideas or images you see and let us know of anything you would like to incorporate into your day. And we are always here for advice, we have had the pleasure of shooting a lot of weddings, so we get to see a lot, if you have any questions or after any advice feel free to get in touch any time.
  • How would you describe your approach/style?
We have a fun, natural and candid approach to our work. Whilst we are there to provide a service, our meetings in the lead up to your big day allows us to get to know each other well enough that you feel completely at ease with us around on the big day. Simon and I are often commended on our ability to blend in at weddings. We shoot and edit to a very true to life result, meaning our edit is very natural looking without any heavy edits or styles, something that we like to think will still be pleasant to look at in 50 years’ time when fashionable edits change.
  • How many images will we receive, and do we get usage rights to our wedding photos?
We don’t work on a number of images delivery as this can vary. We say that the more that you have going on in your day, the more images you are likely to receive. If you have a busy dance floor all night with lots of people having fun, there will naturally be more to capture than if the dance floor was to be empty all night.
  • Do you offer engagement shoots?
Absolutely! Whilst the meetings are a great opportunity in getting to know each other, engagement shoots are a great way of getting a feel for how we work and also poses and positions that you like for the big day! For £99 we offer 9 images on location somewhere lovely (we can make recommendations if you don’t have anywhere in mind).
  • What will you do if you have never shot at our venue before?
We don’t like surprises and leave nothing to chance so we always scope out the venue before a wedding, we’ll check the lighting, where we can stand for the ceremony, the best locations for group shots and couple portraits, we’ll have the whole thing mapped out, don’t worry. Where possible we try to coincide the final meeting with a joint trip with you to the venue so if you have any areas, you are in favour of you can point them out to us.
  • How long after the wedding will we receive the photos?
We initially send a couple of photos the next working day following the wedding itself, so you have something to announce yourselves with and beat all your guests to the social spam! The initial preview of your full album; it is officially 6 weeks… (more to cover ourselves, if for any reason it takes longer) … unofficially its more like 2 weeks and delivery of everything including prints and sticks etc within 6 weeks.
  • Will you photograph our wedding decorations & details?
Of course! Depending on the coordination of the day and where everyone is getting ready will depend on when we get this, but we always aim to get photos of all the decorations, table settings etc before the party starts so you can see it in its beautiful untouched splendor. After all, you have spent a lot of money, time and energy on this stuff, you want photos to commemorate them! As well as these, during the wedding couple prep we also get flat lays and detail photos of special items such as shoes, jewellery, even the perfume and aftershave you’re using for the day!
  • What are high resolution images, and will we receive them?
High resolution images mean higher quality (and larger file sizes) we always give you the option to download from the online gallery in high and/or low resolution. High is more appropriate for print (and you can go really big with these!), low resolution is more suited to online use such as social media due to the smaller file sizes. We do not hold back the high-resolution images for further charges, you have booked us to capture your day in the best quality possible, to us you should receive those without question.
